As most AFL clubs were deep in discussion over potential signings, Richmond announced six re-signings.

The Tigers have been one of the low-key players during trade period, with their bid for Melbourne midfielder Jack Trengove being scuppered after a medical.

On Thursday they announced new deals for defenders Jake Batchelor and Matt Dea, utilities Ricky Petterd and Matt McDonough, and key-position player Todd Elton.

Batchelor agreed on a two-year contract extension, while the other four players have inked one-season deals.

In addition, former Port Adelaide midfielder Matt Thomas will be back in 2015 as a rookie-listed player.
