The Sydney Swans have been fined $2500 by the AFL for failing to provide updated player addresses to the nation's anti-doping body.

The AFL's general counsel Andrew Dillon says the sanction is for an administrative error for not updating ASADA with player addresses.

He says the penalty is the minimum fine, given Sydney's "strong compliance history".
