AFL Giant Cameron finds change challenging

GWS forward Jeremy Cameron says he's sometimes found himself in two minds since returning from a five-week AFL ban for his hit on Brisbane's Harris Andrews.

GWS forward Jeremy Cameron says it's been a challenge trying to modify his game in order to avoid a repeat of the collision that earned him a five-match AFL ban.

Brisbane defender Harris Andrews suffered brain bleeding and severe concussion as a result of the round 14 incident.

"I've had a few big knocks since and there's been some pretty big body-on-body hits," said Cameron who returned to action in round 20.

"But it happens so quick and just thinking on the spot is something I've had to knuckle down on and try and improve."

Cameron said it wasn't easy to make changes.

"It's a very fine line. It's very hard to practice and especially if you have bodies coming back at you at all sorts of different angles, I think," he said.

"It can be quite dangerous at times so it is very hard.

"But just getting out there and training a little bit the best we can has helped me.

"But at the end of the day, I'm still going to attack the ball the way I've learnt over my time and in the juniors."

Cameron said there had been instances since returning from suspension when he had found himself in two minds going into similar situations like the one he faced with Andrews.

"The first week back was against Carlton and one of the boys kicked in a chaos ball,' Cameron said.

"They are quite often the ones that you just don't know how far it's going to go or, it's hard to read.

"I picked up quite early it was going to drop short and there was a Carlton guy in front of me, so I went pretty hard at him.

"But slowed up as I got to the contest. I think I just had it in the back of my mind, and he actually marked it.

"But when you review it, he's outmarked me and if I went harder I could probably have brought it to ground for sure, so it's tough."

Cameron said the toe issue affecting him since early in the season had improved after his involuntary layoff.
