AFL leaders Adelaide are backing key defender Daniel Talia's resilience to overcome an ankle injury and play against West Coast on Sunday.

Talia rolled an ankle during Adelaide's three-point loss to Sydney but played out the game.

"He seems to have pulled up really well .... but it's probably a bit too early at this stage to know too much," teammate David Mackay told reporters on Monday.

"If you know Tals, his preparation is second to none, his habits are professional as anyone at the footy club.

"If anyone can get themselves up from particular injuries, it is him, and no doubt he's doing everything he can."

The Crows are assured a home final ahead of Sunday's away match against the Eagles, who need to win to steal a playoff spot.

But Mackay dismissed suggestions of their lofty finish placing the Crows under more pressure to perform in the finals.

"I don't think it affects too much," Mackay said.

"Obviously you get yourself in a position where you can earn home finals, and that is important and that is something you strive for throughout the year.

"But when it comes down to it, you have got to be playing well at that time of year.

"And that is really our focus, making sure that we're bringing our best for the next five or six weeks.

"We're pretty confident that if we can do that, we will be competitive in every game we play."
