Five AFL player agents have been sanctioned for betting on games.
The AFL agents accreditation board says the five - Garry Winter, Luke Holland, Nick Gieschen, Olaf Borutz and Wayne Loxley - have been reprimanded for betting on 2015 games.
None of the bets exceeded more than $1000 each. All but Winter were fined $500 and told to undergo AFL's online gambling education module; Winter was given a $1000 fine for placing multiple bets.
The breaches relate to bets placed on the AFL and, in one case, an International Rules match. There is no suggestion the wagers were based on inside information, the agents board said in a statement on Thursday.
"The (board) views any breach of the anti-gambling provisions of the code of conduct as a very serious matter," chairman Brett Murphy said.
"After a thorough investigation in collaboration with the AFL, we feel the sanctions imposed are proportionate to the level of breach in each circumstance."
