Adelaide's star player Erin Phillips has suffered an apparent serious knee injury in the AFLW grand final against Carlton.

Phillips was playing a big role as Adelaide headed towards a second AFLW premiership in Sunday's decider at Adelaide Oval.

But after kicking two goals among her 18 disposals, Phillips damaged her left knee midway through the third quarter and was taken from the ground on a motorised stretcher.
