Reigning AFLW best-and-fairest Erin Phillips will miss another game for Adelaide after being diagnosed with a minor quad strain.
The 32-year-old has been ruled out of Saturday's clash with Melbourne at Casey Fields after having scans on her injured muscle.
Phillips picked up the injury at training last week and was a late withdrawal for the Crows' grand final rematch against Brisbane, which the Lions won by 12 points.
The premiership co-captain will travel with the team to Melbourne and will be assessed again before the Crows' home clash with the Western Bulldogs in round three.
"It's disappointing I won't be out there to help the team on Saturday but the medical advice is that I should rest this week," Phillips said on Tuesday.
"I know the girls are really keen to respond after the loss to Brisbane and it's a great opportunity for our young players to get some more exposure at the highest level.
"I'll help however I can off the field this week and will be doing everything I can to play in round three."
Fellow All-Australian Courtney Cramey will also miss the clash against the Demons after suffering a hamstring injury.
Phillips' latest setback comes after she tore her quad early in last year's pre-season although she managed to resume full training before the Crows' first game.
A former WNBA and Australian national basketballer, Phillips took all before her in a stunning debut season.
She won the the AFLW best and fairest medal, the AFLW players' most valuable player award and was the best player in Adelaide's grand final win over the Lions.
The Crows can ill afford to be without her for an extended period, given the home-and-away season is only seven rounds long.
