AFP Brisbane HQ reopens

The Australian Federal Police Brisbane headquarters has reopened after a bomb threat put the building into lockdown.

The Australian Federal Police's Brisbane headquarters has been reopened after a bomb threat sparked a security sweep, but the Queensland Police site remains in partial lockdown.

The AFP confirmed its headquarters had returned to its usual security measures on Thursday afternoon, about two hours after a call suggesting a bomb threat saw explosive detection dogs and personnel sweep the Wharf Street site.

No suspicious items had been unearthed by these checks and inquiries into the source of the call, placed via the National Security Hotline, were continuing, a spokesperson said.

A spokesperson earlier told AAP it was "business as usual" within the headquarters as they were undertaken.

Traffic and pedestrians were not diverted and a trio of delivery men who were turned away were told to come back later.

But the Queensland Police headquarters on Roma Street remain in partial lockdown.

The measure was implemented just before midday, with two officers placed at the building's main entrance.

Members of the public were still able to enter through the front doors, a spokesperson said.
