Aidan Guerra impresses in Roosters return

Aidan Guerra has enjoyed a successful NRL return with the Roosters in their 42-6 thumping of St George Illawarra.

Queensland back-rower Aidan Guerra has enjoyed an impressive NRL return for Sydney Roosters in their record-equalling over St George Illawarra.

After an underwhelming year for his club, Guerra was dumped for the Roosters' win over North Queensland last week.

However he was recalled for Sunday's 42-6 win over the Dragons at Allianz Stadium.

Guerra played a key role in the Roosters sixth win of the year. He scored a second-half try, made 34 tackles and 93m from nine runs in a welcome return to form.

Robinson was impressed with the performance from Guerra, who played in all three Origin games in the Maroons' series win this year.

"He took it (his sacking) hard but he took it like a man," Robinson said.

"He trained really hard and we got the response we wanted.

"He held his edge up well today and then got the spoils with that try.

"It was a good performance from him."

Guerra was a late inclusion for Dale Copley, who was still struggling with a concussion suffered in last week's win over North Queensland.

Mitch Aubusson shifted from the back-row to centre to accommodate the return of Guerra.

Aubusson's season could be over after he injured his kidneys in scoring the game's opening try.

Stood-down Roosters recruitment manager Peter O'Sullivan lured Guerra to the Roosters from Melbourne several seasons ago.

"That (the allegations against O'Sullivan) is irrelevant to the day. It is in the hands of the NRL and I will leave it at that," Robinson said.
