The Sydney Festival is about to get under way. It's an arts, music and cultural festival, now in its 34th year, and is expected to be bigger than ever.
From tomorrow night, the city's CBD will play host to a smorgasboard of festivities, with parks, squares and the tops of buildings showcasing an array of performers, including the legendary master of soul, Al Green.
Reverend Green is making his first appearance in Australia, accompanied by his three daughters, who'll provide the backup vocals.
The 81 events at 27 venues will include around 1,300 artists from Australia and around the world.
Organisers promise it'll spread its wings from last year, both geographically and with what's included in the festival program.

Artistic director Lindy Hume said, “In 2010 we have begun to develop a deeper connection with artists from the Asia-Pacific region, so the works of artists from the Pacific and India prominently feature in our festival.”
Over a million people are expected to attend free and ticketed events during the festival, which goes on until 30th January.
