Al Qaeda manual: how to avoid drone strikes

Al Qaeda has released a manual instructing its members how to avoid American drone strikes, CNN's Brian Todd reports.

The document, found by the Associated Press in Mali, provides 22 tips for militants to evade drones.

Tips include: "maintain complete silence of all wireless contacts" and "[create a] formation of fake gatherings using dolls and statutes ... to mislead the enemy."

CNN Terrorism Analyst Paul Cruickshank says drone strikes have been "psychologically traumatic" for Al Qaeda members, creating a "high degree of paranoia" within the group.

The number of casualties caused by US drones is unknown but experts believe up to 4,700 people have been killed, including 250 civilians.
