Albanese says loyal to Bill Shorten team

Senior opposition frontbencher Anthony Albanese says he has enough on his plate without challenging Bill Shorten for the Labor leadership.

Senior Labor frontbencher Anthony Albanese says he is busy enough in his own portfolio without thinking about challenging for the Labor leadership.

Mr Albanese, who stood for the Labor leadership against Bill Shorten after the 2013 election, says he's more interested in addressing the cost of living, fixing the National Broadband Network and infrastructure.

"My challenge is doing the right thing by the Australian people as part of Bill Shorten's team. My loyalty is always to the cause of Labor and the people we represent," Mr Albanese told Sky News on Sunday.
