Albanese slams PM's super-brief WA visit

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull didn't achieve much on his FIFO visit to WA, meeting no-one but journalists, Labor's Anthony Albanese says.

Labor frontbencher Anthony Albanese has taken a swipe at Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull for his lightning-fast visit to WA, saying he spent most of it in a hotel room.

Mr Turnbull flew in late on Sunday night, held a brief press conference at a shipyard in the Fremantle electorate without the local Liberal candidate or WA Premier by his side, and was on a plane to Darwin by midday on Monday.

"The idea that you come to Western Australia for a 15 minute press conference and don't meet anyone is just beyond my comprehension," Mr Albanese said on Tuesday, the third day of his visit to WA.
