Lego has confirmed it will open a stand-alone store over two floors of an eastern Sydney shopping centre by the end of the month.

Alceon Group, the largest shareholder in Noni B and SurfStitch, is launching the first store of its kind in the city after being given the rights to run Lego-certified shops in Australia and New Zealand.

The 302-square-metre store will feature a wall-mounted Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge mosaic built out of the company's toy bricks, the Lego Group said.

The Alceon Group said the store will have tables where youngsters can "get creative and build whatever they imagine" as well as a dedicated area for children's parties and a Lego brick engraving service.

The store at Westfield Bondi Junction is scheduled to open on March 21.
