SBS World News Radio: The International Committee of the Red Cross has described the situation in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo as a humanitarian catastrophe.

Aleppo a humanitarian catastrophe, says ICRC

The International Committee of the Red Cross says Aleppo is a humanitarian catastrophe.

But the Syrian government is denying reports of atrocities, saying Aleppo hasn't fallen and has been liberated from terrorists.

Russia's ambassador to the United Nations, Vitaly Churkin, says the fighting has ended and civilians can stay and won't be harmed.

Greg Dyett asked Krista Armstrong from the ICRC in Geneva about the latest reports she's received from Aleppo.
