All eyes at the G20 summit in Germany were on the new US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
It was Mr Tillerson's first meeting with foreign ministers from the Group of 20 economies in attendance.
And in a dizzying day of diplomacy there was one handshake that seemed to matter most.
Russia's foreign minister Sergei Lavrov came face-to-face with his politically inexperienced US counterpart.
