All three WA fire emergencies downgraded

Emergency warnings for two bushfires in WA's south and one in the Perth suburb of Baldivis have been downgraded.

The threat of three bushfires in Western Australia has eased, with rainfall helping firefighting efforts at the regional blazes.

An emergency warning for Jarrahwood, a small town between Busselton and Nannup, has been downgraded to a watch and act alert.

At Vasse Plantation, south-west of Busselton, an emergency warning has now been downgraded to an advice, meaning there is no longer a threat to lives and homes.

Both fires were sparked by an escape from pine harvest debris burns.

At Jarrahwood, 1900 hectares had been burnt by late afternoon.

The fire at Vasse Plantation is smaller, burning through 30 hectares.

In Perth, an emergency warning for Baldivis has also been downgraded to a watch and act alert, with authorities saying firefighters have worked hard to save homes.

The blaze has closed a southbound section of Kwinana Freeway and burnt 111 hectares.

The cause is not yet known.

The Bureau of Meteorology said a combination of extremely dry conditions and strong northerly winds had created severe fire dangers.
