A NSW Central Coast man is accused of grooming a supposed teenage boy for sex.
Detectives from the State Crime Command's Sex Crimes Squad posed as a 14-year-old boy after receiving a tip-off about a man who had been using social networking platforms to befriend teenagers.
They engaged the man in online conversation and it is alleged he responded with "inappropriate, sexually-themed comments".
Police will further allege that the man arranged to meet the imaginary 14-year-old for sex.
At 10.10am (AEDT) on Wednesday detectives arrested a 33-year-old man at Gosford Railway Station.
The Kincumber man was arrested and his home searched, with detectives seizing items including a laptop.
The man has been charged with using a carriage service to groom a person under 16 years of age and using a carriage service to transmit indecent communication to a person under 16 years of age.
He has been granted strict conditional bail to appear at Gosford Local Court on March 11.
