An alleged gunman has been charged with murder following the crossfire shooting of a bystander in Sydney's southwest.
The 28-year-old surrendered to police on Tuesday after an intense four-day manhunt in Heckenberg and Green Valley.
It's alleged he was in a car when he fired at two pedestrians but missed, instead hitting 46-year-old Qusay Al Mhanawi who was talking on a phone in a parked car in Heckenberg about 6.30pm on Friday.
He then hit one of the pedestrians with his car as he fled, police say.
The 20-year-old male struck by the vehicle was taken to hospital with minor injuries but Mr Mhanawi died at the scene.
The alleged gunman's car was found without number plates in the garage of a Green Valley home on Saturday night.
He then handed himself in to Bankstown police accompanied by his lawyer about 11am on Tuesday.
He has been refused bail to face Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday charged with numerous offences, including murder and two counts of attempted murder.
The charges were laid following Mr Mhanawi's funeral in Liverpool.
Hundreds of mourners farewelled the father-of-one, who was remembered as a "peaceful, family man".
"It's not easy to say goodbye, that simple ... he's gone, not come back anymore, doesn't matter what the reason," brother-in-law Wesam Alkhamisi told the Seven Network as he broke down in tears.
Five people have also been charged with concealing a serious offence.
