As uprisings sweep the Middle East and North Africa, it is easy to imagine that a tipping point may have arrived for authoritarian rulership in the region.
However, the outcome of unrest is likely to vary greatly depending on the power structure and economic strength of each nation.
Dr Benjamin MacQueen, a lecturer in Middle East relations at Melbourne's Monash University, forecasts what the coming months may hold for Bahrain, Yemen, Egypt, Algeria and Libya.
