Months after humiliating himself at an airport, rugby league great Andrew Johns has been lauded for a selfless act on a flight.

Queensland mother Lisa Irving has taken to social media to thank Johns for giving up his business-class seat for her and her baby daughter on Friday.

"Lexi and I had a taste of the high life today courtesy of a very generous business class passenger, Mr Joey Johns, offering to swap seats with us," Irving posted on Facebook.

"Real plates, cutlery and it felt very weird to drink water on a plane out of an actual glass!"

Irving was returning home after celebrating her father's 60th birthday, while Johns was travelling from Sydney to Brisbane to commentate on the Brisbane-Souths NRL match for the Nine Network.

"He must of seen me walk past him on the plane with my bub and talked to the flight attendant about swapping seats with me," she told AAP.

"Pretty sure they said that he's done stuff like this before, which I thought was really nice.

"I waited after the flight to thank him. He casually replied that he hoped it made it more comfortable.

"He was very modest about it all. Such unnecessary generosity."

Johns' act of kindness comes after Nine axed the rugby league Immortal from its 2015 grand final coverage after an alleged drunken incident at Toowoomba airport.

Johns later apologised to a married mother-of-three after allegedly making sexually explicit comments to her before he was photographed asleep next to two garbage bins.
