Disgruntled Republican Party members have started burning their registration cards in protest over the likely nomination of Donald Trump as candidate for president.

Images of burning cards began appearing on social media following the announcement that Senator Ted Cruz would withdraw from the race.

The announcement paved the way for Mr Trump to secure the Republican Party nomination. 

Yesterday, Ohio governor John Kasich - the last man standing in Donald Trump's path - also ended his campaign.
