Several women collapsed during the protest against licensing changes in the cab industry.

Emotions boiled over as cab drivers and their families demanded an audience with Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews.

With debate due on a bill introducing the cab reforms, demonstrators climbed the front steps of Parliament and tried to force their way inside.

As tensions and temperatures rose, several women required medical attention after collapsing in the heat.

The government is planning to introduce major industry changes, including the regulation of Uber and the scrapping of licences.
