Another boost for Tigers as Caddy returns

Richmond coach Damien Hardwick will have almost a full AFL playing list to choose from ahead of Friday night's qualifying final against Geelong.

Important Richmond forward Josh Caddy is set to add to Damien Hardwick's embarrassment of riches at the AFL selection table.

The 24-year-old hasn't played since round 21 when he injured a hamstring in a 14-point loss to Geelong.

He must pass a fitness test this week, but appears certain to be available for the Tigers' qualifying final clash against the Cats at the MCG on Friday night.

"He trained with us last Friday and he'll train again this week," teammate Shaun Grigg told reporters on Monday.

"Hopefully he puts his hand up and gets through training."

Richmond are hitting the finals series with nearly a full complement of fit players.

If Caddy comes off the injury list as expected that will leave just one unfit player remaining; Nathan Drummond, who is out for the season with a knee injury.

In another boost for the Tigers, their VFL team defeated Collingwood in an elimination final on Saturday, which will allow the whole squad to maintain match fitness and press for AFL selection for at least one more week.

"We've got incredible depth ... our VFL (team) has been playing really well," Grigg said.

"We've got a lot of depth ... those boys are playing well."

Anthony Miles, Sam Lloyd, Corey Ellis and Shaun Hampson are among those to have enhanced their chances of AFL selection with strong performances.

Meanwhile, the Tigers were slapped with a $10,000 fine by the AFL on Monday for not providing up-to-date address details for a senior-listed player.

Under the league's agreement with ASADA, players can be drug tested at their homes, so all addresses must be current.

However, $5,000 of the fine was suspended for 12 months.
