The federal government has reportedly approved a multi-million dollar telemovie to deter asylum seekers from coming to Australia by boat.
The drama, which is due to be broadcast later this year in countries such as Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, will cost $4.1 million, the ABC has reported.
One possible plot line in the telemovie will include a story about asylum seekers drowning at sea after paying people smugglers.
Each broadcast will also be accompanied with a social media campaign.
