Anti-IS fighter tipped to return home soon

Anti-Islamic State fighter Ashley Dyball is expected to arrive in Melbourne after being detained in Germany while on a break from the battlefield.

A Queensland man who fought against Islamic State in Syria is tipped to arrive in Australia within hours.

Ashley Dyball, 23, was deported from Germany on Saturday night and is due to arrive in Melbourne on Sunday night, ABC reports.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has been contacted but so far hasn't confirmed details of Dyball's arrival.
