App to promote Indigenous mental health

Researchers are hoping a new iPad app will help some Indigenous people cope with mental illness issues.

National health surveys show Indigenous adults are more than twice as likely to experience emotional distress than non-Indigenous adults.

A team at the Menzies School and Health Research and the Queensland University of Technololgy is hoping a new iPad app will help some of those who develop mental illness issues.

Menzies Associate Professor Tricia Nagel told Brianna Piazza the app's been developed in consultation with Aboriginal mental health workers.
