It's not often that April Fool's Day falls on Easter Sunday, but some pranksters deemed the opportunity too good to pass up.

Children expecting chocolate Easter eggs on Sunday were tricked with parents seamlessly disguising healthy fruit snacks under the wrapping.

Other parents shared photos on social media of their children on Easter egg hunts, but revealed they didn't hide any chocolate eggs.

While some parents hatched and delivered the devious Easter egg pranks, children were also plotting their sweet revenge.

One woman appeared to give her children grapes wrapped and disguised as Creme Eggs, but the children were planning their retaliation.

"They made us brownies (brown-E's) in return," she wrote.

Pranksters were also up to their traditional April Fool's style tricks.

Parents of Chlo Ward, from England, left a note on her car about non-existent damage and filmed her searching for the scratch in the cold weather.

Meanwhile, the Manchester Police Department tweeted about a prank organised between parents, their children and the police, in order to fool the local high school coach.

Essex Lacrosse Team pranked their coach by calling him to assist with "bail" and to pick them up from the local police station.
