April Fools: Virgin Australia introduces 'Kids Class' cabin

Virgin Australia's latest idea to introduce a cabin for kids on commercial flights was favourably received by followers on social media. Too bad it was an April Fools Day joke.

Virgin Australia posted an April Fools video on social media on Friday to introduce a new 'kids class' cabin, where colouring-in books are the entertainment at take off and hopscotching down the aisles was acceptable.

The video describes the class as an adult-free zone and includes features such as seats where children can kick the seat infront, a customised teddy bear ordering service and bubbles during story time.

"When you thought things couldn't get slicker, we've gone and built seats just for the kicker," the narrator said.

"When it's time to get your favourite story in hand, we'll make it even better with bubbles on demand."
The video on Facebook received more than 400 comments and was shared more than 700 times.

One person said: "Is it really an April fools? I thought it was an awesome idea."

Another comment said: "Instead of making a class for kids maybe they should working [sic] on improving economy class for the majority of its travelers."

Virgin America's April Fools gag was to introduce a new logo which looked like a pair of women’s breasts.

That video received several positive comments, including one which said: "April Fools tradition! I love Richard Branson's sense of humor."
