Argentina beat Kookaburras in Darwin final

Olympic champions Argentina have beaten the Kookaburras for a second time in Darwin to claim a four nations pre-World Cup tournament.

Reigning Olympic champions Argentina have sounded another pre-World Cup warning to the Kookaburras by beating the world No.1-ranked men's hockey team for a second time in Darwin.

Argentina followed up their 2-0 win in round-robin play on Wednesday with a 2-1 victory in the Darwin International Hockey Open finale on Saturday.

The world No.2 side bounced back from Kieran Govers' first international goal since November 2016 to claim an entertaining decider at the Marrara Hockey Centre.

Govers' 19th-minute strike was cancelled out by Matias Paredas, then captain Pedro Ibarra swept home the clincher in the third quarter.

Malaysia secured third place by beating Japan 4-0 in their play-off.
