Argentina's capital city has been flooded with contenders for the 2014 South American Pole Dancing Championships.
The flexible field has used poles, poise and an array of costumes in a bid to compete at the World Pole Dance Championships early next year.
For many taking part the public nature of the competition is important in promoting the dance as a serious and rigourous sport, rather than an underground performance associated with strippers and seedy clubs.
The competition included several categories for men, women, pairs as well as elite and amateur practitioners.
Argentine Florencia Bustos took the top prize in the female elite category.
"I am very happy to be able to represent Argentina in this sport that I love," she said.
"I really love this. I've been doing this for seven years now and to have the opportunity to travel representing Argentina is an absolute dream. I am very happy."
