Argentina's president briefly hospitalised

Argentine officials say President Mauricio Macri has been briefly hospitalised after suffering from a "light arrhythmia".

Argentine President Mauricio Macri has been briefly hospitalised for an irregular heartbeat, the presidency says.

Macri, 57, suffered from a "light arrhythmia" about 3pm local time, but he carried on working normally at the presidential residence in the outskirts of Buenos Aires, the presidential office said in a statement.

He was later checked into a hospital at 7.30pm for precautionary studies. He was released and returned home later in the evening.
