Armed civilian kills man who opened fire on US restaurant patrons

A man who fired on patrons at an Oklahoma City restaurant has been shot dead by an armed bystander, police have confirmed.

At least four people were injured when a man opened fire inside a restaurant in Oklahoma City, before he was shot dead by an armed civilian.

The suspect entered Louie’s Bar and Grill during evening service and opened fire on patrons, before the armed civilian confronted him.  

Oklahoma City Police confirmed the suspect was shot dead moments later.  

"A man walked into the Louie's restaurant and opened fire with a gun," police said.

Police said the first two victims with female and “expected to survive”, with two other victims suffering minor injuries.

“As OCPD reported, the suspect is dead,” Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt tweeted.

The shooter’s motives remained unknown, and his identity had not been released.
