Brad Arthur admits he is growing tired with his underperforming Parramatta side but denies he has begun questioning his own coaching methods.
The last-placed Eels slumped to their 12th loss of the season after with a second-half meltdown in their 42-24 defeat to a rampant South Sydney side on Thursday.
It was their among their biggest defeats of the season and is set to heap more pressure on Arthur to find a way to lift his team out of the NRL cellar
He admitted he was tired of having to explain his team's dismal performances each week.
"But it's part of the job. We're just going to have to keep working hard and make sure we can come up with some solutions," he said.
Asked whether it has forced him to question himself, Arthur said: "No, as long as we keep working hard.
"We're obviously a team that's down on confidence and I think that showed a little bit in the second half, we're not backing ourselves with our defence."
Against the Rabbitohs it was right-edge brothers Michael and George Jennings, who missed a combined 10 tackles as younger sibling Robert ran riot with four tries for Souths.
The side also inexplicably allowed a kick-off to bounce over the sideline in the first half, and twice conceded tries on early plays outside of scrums.
"Some of our defensive reads and errors we made tonight are of reserve-grade standard," Arthur said.
"I don't want to be rude to Souths. They executed their play really well, but we've seen them plays a thousand times. We've defended them a thousand times at training.
"We weren't aggressive, or we weren't passive and working out together. We were trying to do both."
The Eels will now have a few days off before beginning preparations for their next clash against St George Illawarra, where Arthur suggested he could blood a few more youngsters.
He pointed to recent debutants of hooker Reed Mahoney and second-rower Marata Niukore, while young gun Jaemon Salmon has also been tipped to get a run soon.
"We've got a couple of blokes there that might get a chance," Arthur said.
