Former Australian cricketer Arthur Morris was inducted into the International Cricket Council's hall of fame on Tuesday, in a ceremony at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Morris was given the honour posthumously and his wife Judith Morris received a personalised cap from former Australia cricket captain and ICC Cricket hall of fame member Steve Waugh.
The ceremony took place during the tea break on the opening day of the third Test between Australia and Pakistan in Sydney, with Morris becoming the 82nd player inducted into the hall of fame.
"It is a great honour to be receiving this award, which brings in a flood of memories along with it," Judith Morris said.
"I thank the ICC for recognising my husband's contribution to cricket by inducting him into the ICC Cricket hall of fame."
Arthur Morris played 46 Tests for Australia and scored 3533 runs at an average of 46.48. He scored 12 centuries and his highest score was 206 against England in 1951.
He made his Test debut in Brisbane against England in 1946 and was named in Australia's Test team of the 20th century, having been a key member of Don Bradman's 'Invincibles'.
