The Australian Rugby Union is trying to poach electrifying Melbourne NRL winger Marika Koroibete, according to reports.

Triple M's Rush Hour program, News Corp Australia and the Nine Network reported on Thursday night that Super Rugby franchise the Melbourne Rebels are looking to lure the 23-year-old Fijian.

Koroibete already has three tries in six games for the Storm this season, after bagging 16 four-pointers in 23 matches last year.

The Storm flyer has been a revelation in Melbourne since joining the club from Wests Tigers in 2014.

He scored 12 tries in 16 appearances for the Tigers and has played seven Tests for Fiji.
