Collingwood will retain banned players Lachie Keeffe and Josh Thomas through this month's AFL rookie draft.

The Magpies delisted the pair on October 30 and, on Wednesday, ASADA confirmed the details of their two-year suspensions.

Keeffe and Thomas said on August 10 they would not contest their ASADA charges.

But Collingwood also said at the time they would re-draft them if they wanted to try to resurrect their careers.

The Magpies plan to name Keeffe and Thomas in the November 27 rookie draft.

Keeffe and Thomas believe their positive tests were unintended consequences of taking illicit drugs.

ASADA announced on Wednesday their two-year bans would last until February 9, 2017.

They also cannot train at any AFL club until December 9 next year.

The AFL said under its anti-doping code, "a player may return to train with a team or use its club facilities during the shorter of either the last two months of the athlete's period of ineligibility or the last one quarter of the period of ineligibility".
