Ashwin, Sharma train on India's day off

Star spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and batsman Rohit Sharma have trained in the Adelaide Oval nets on what was intended to be India's day off.

Star spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has signalled his intent this summer, training at Adelaide Oval on what was intended to be a day off.

India's Test squad were given a chance to freshen up on Monday, having spent 151.1 overs in the field during their tour game at the SCG that finished on Saturday.

But Ashwin and batsman Rohit Sharma trained in the nets under the watchful eye of coach Ravi Shastri before the four-Test series opener against Australia starts on Thursday.
