Assistant treasurer concedes defeat

David Bradbury, the assistant treasurer, has conceded defeat to Liberal Fiona Scott in the marginal western Sydney seat of Lindsay.

Assistant Treasurer David Bradbury has conceded defeat in the marginal western Sydney seat of Lindsay.

Liberal candidate Fiona Scott, described during the campaign by prime minister-elect Tony Abbott as having "sex appeal", has scored 52.04 per cent of the vote, with 70.94 per cent of ballots counted.

Mr Bradbury secured 47.96 of the vote with a 3.16 per cent swing away from him.

"We've conceded," a spokesman for Mr Bradbury told AAP.

Mr Bradbury held the seat on a slim margin of 1.1 per cent.

Candidates from The Greens, Family First, the Christian Democrat Party, the Australia First Party an independent were also contesting the seat.
