ASX boss Elmer Funke Kupper resigns

ASX chief executive Elmer Funke Kupper, who is the former boss of gambling giant Tabcorp, has resigned as police probe Tabcorp over a bribe claim.

The chief executive of share market operator ASX Ltd, Elmer Funke Kupper, has resigned, effective immediately.

ASX chairman Rick Holliday-Smith said Mr Funke Kupper wanted to direct his full focus to investigations that may be made into a matter concerning gambling giant Tabcorp, of which Mr Funke Kupper is a former chief executive.

Australian Federal Police are investigating allegations that Tabcorp was involved in foreign bribery in Cambodia.
