Online shopping has experienced a boom in recent times. Here are some of the most-visited retail websites in Australia in 2009, as compiled by digital research agency, comScore Inc.

1. Apple - Music and technology retailer Apple topped the list, after cornering the legal music download audience.

2. Amazon - Book, music and DVD purveyor Amazon is America's largest online retailer, and was a pioneer of eCommerce, launching in 1995.

3. Coles - Supermarket chain Coles allows customers to purchase their groceries online. They offer both delivery and pick up options.

4. Woolworths - The supermarket chain is just edged out by rival Coles.

5. Shopping.com - The price comparison website is run by eBay, and offers a number of international sites, including those in the US, UK and Australia.

6. Getprice.com.au - Another price comparison website, though this one is uniquely Australian.

7. Myshopping.com.au - The comparison service searches thousands of sites from Australia and around the globe.

8. Dealsdirect.com.au - The bargain-hunters dream, this site allows users to pose questions in a 24-hour live chat line.

9. Dell - The IT corporation's website offers a number of deals on computer hardware and software.

10. American Greetings - The greeting card company allows users to buy and send eCards and printable cards.
