At least seven people were killed after a fire swept a garment making factory in the Bangladeshi capital, leaving at least seven people dead on Thursday, police said.
Fire fighters doused the fire at 2am Thursday (2000 GMT Wednesday), police said.
"Seven people have died of suffocation," local police chief Khalilur Rahman told AFP.
The incident follows last month's garment factory collapse outside Dhaka, which left at least 800 dead and has led to the closure of 18 garment plants.
The incident has occurred while rescuers are still pulling bodies out of the wreckage of a building collapse which killed more than 800 people.

More than 3,000 garment workers were on shift on April 24 when the nine-storey Rana Plaza complex crumbled as they were turning out clothing for Western retailers such as Britain's Primark and the Spanish label Mango.
A total of 2437 people were earlier rescued from the ruins, authorities say.
Today Bangladeshi authorities shut down 18 clothing factories in an attempt to avoid a repeat of last month's disaster.
