At least two patients have been trapped following the collapse of a roof at a state hospital in Johannesburg.

Local reports say at least two people are trapped after part of a hospital roof collapsed in Johannesburg.

Paramedic company ER24 says rescue services are at the scene at Charlotte Maxeke hospital. Images posted on Twitter by ER24 show workers in hard hats scrambling to remove rubble.

Local broadcaster eNCA is reporting that some local officials earlier had raised concerns about safety issues at the hospital.
