An international team of more than 100 scientists has found melting ice, warming waters and changing wind patterns in the Arctic.

For the first time broadcaster and naturalist Sir David Attenborough has spoken out on climate change.

In his latest series, Frozen Planet, Attenborough has warned that the speed of change in the North and South Poles has implications far beyond the polar regions.

He says that if temperatures continued to rise, it could have a "catastrophic effect on the human race."

In the video, Attenborough shows how warming waters in Antarctica could cause massive icebergs to melt.

While scientists are not sure at what rate the ice is melting, they warn the future of the world's polar regions are in danger.
