Australia's Broc Parkes has landed a ride at this weekend's MotoGP season finale in Valencia.

The 33-year-old will deputise at Ioda Racing for Alex de Angelis, who suffered serious injuries in a crash during practice at Motegi last month.

De Angelis was replaced by another Australian - Damian Cudlin - at Phillip Island and Sepang rounds in October.

Parkes was Australia's sole contender in last year's MotoGP championship with Paul Bird Motorsport, finishing the season 23rd.

His best race result was 11th.

He made the switch to the British Superbike Championship this year, before turning to endurance racing mid-season.

Parkes will be joined on the grid by countryman Jack Miller, who is set to finish his rookie season in the premier class inside the top 20.
