Aussie co-pilot in Emirates airline crash

Emirates airlines has confirmed that an Australian pilot was aboard the plane which caught fire and crash landing at an airport in Dubai.

Emirates airlines has confirmed an Australian was the co-pilot of the Boeing 777 which caught fire in mid-air and dramatically crash landed at an airport in Dubai.

The airline's chairman Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum confirmed that one of the pilots on board is Australian, an Emirates spokeswoman told AAP.

The airline is not releasing the name of the pilots but it is co-operating with the investigators.
