Aussie de Niese becomes opera star

Australian born soprano Danielle de Niese is acclaimed overseas, but is not a household name down under yet.

The singer was born in Melbourne to Sri Lankan parents of Dutch and Scottish ancestry.

De Niese started performing as a child, before forging a successful opera career in America and Europe. And now she's home, more than two decades later.
