Aussie gymnasts win 6 medals

Australia's gymnasts have won six medals on the last day of competition at the Pacific Rim Championships in Washington.

Australia has bagged six medals on the final day of competition at gymastics' Pacific Rim Championships.

The competition, held every two years and attracting some of the world's best gymnastics nations, served as a solid tune-up for next week's Rio Test Event - the final qualifying competition for the 2016 Olympic Games.

Australia had 12 competitors in action on the concluding day and enjoyed a 50 per cent medal return from them.

Larrissa Miller performed a strong routine to take home the silver medal behind the American Ashton Locklear in the uneven bars.

In the senior RG apparatus finals Danielle Prince captured bronze medals in the ball, clubs and ribbon finals while juniors Alexandra Eedle and Lidiia Ilakovleva won a silver with hoop and bronze with clubs.

At next week's test event Australia's women's team will be competing against Brazil, France, Belgium, Germany, Romania, South Korea and Switzerland and will need to finish in the top four countries to secure an Olympic berth.

With a third at this competition on Saturday, they are regarded as well on track to claim a spot.

In other gymnastics disciplines at the test event, Michael Mercieca will be looking to secure an All-Around position in the men's artistic gymnastics at the Olympics while trampolinist Blake Gaudry will also aim to qualify Australia a quota position.
