Tournament No.4 seed Rex Hedrick is through to the last four of the PSA professional squash tournament in Auckland after surviving a gruelling five-set quarter-final.
The Melburnian traded sets with Englishman Angus Gillams before securing a 11-4 9-11 14-12 8-11 11-4 victory, to set up a semi-final meeting with top-seed Campbell Grayson.
Kiwi Grayson eliminated Australia's Josh Larkin, who was seeded eighth, 11-6 11-7 11-8.
Czech qualifier Daniel Mekbib also made the last four, surprising sixth seed Mahesh Mangaonkar in an intense five-setter.
Mekbib took the first two sets 13-11 11-9 before the Indian battled back to take the next two 11-4 11-6, only for Mekbib to take the fifth 11-9.
Mekbib will meet Scot Greg Lobban, who beat Kiwi Evan Williams 11-3 11-4 11-7 in the other semi-final.
