Tears were shed, belly laughs were had and countless bottles of Australian wine were drank as Hollywood stars including Margot Robbie, Colin Farrell, Amy Adams and John Travolta celebrated at the G'Day USA gala in Los Angeles.
"You have made me a very proud and humble Aussie tonight," Queensland's Robbie, who earlier in the week was nominated for a best actress Oscar, told the large A-List audience of Australians and Americans.
The I, Tonya star was honoured at the event with an Excellence in Film Award.
Big Little Lies producer Bruna Papandrea, songwriter John Farrar and the late Heath Ledger were also honoured at LA's Intercontinental Hotel.
Guests feasted on Curtis Stone prepared Australian glacier toothfish, lamb chops and milk panna cotta.
The G'Day USA program is in its 15th year and the gala is the highlight of events held across America promoting Australian businesses, tourism, film, food and wine.
There were few dry eyes when Farrell presented Ledger's father, Kim, with a lifetime achievement award.
Heath died 10 years ago from an accidental prescription drug overdose.
Hugh Sheridan and Rebel Wilson debuted their new duet Dreamers and Delta Goodrem and Human Nature performed a medley of Olivia Newton-John and Farrar songs.
Newton-John joined them on stage and completing the surreal experience, her Grease star Travolta was in the audience.
Irishman Farrell was impressed by the Aussie shindig and said his country needed to pick up its act.
"This is a very impressive evening and we Irish need to get our s*** together," Farrell told the audience.
"Thirty seconds of bagpipes and all of the cocktail sausages you can eat doesn't cut it anymore."
G'Day USA is produced by Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Austrade and Tourism Australia.
